Tea is the most consumed drink in the world due to the fact that the world's most populous country takes it, such as China, India and Central Asia in general, and their number reaches half of the world's population, with tea drinking from European, American and Arab countries to become the most demanded drink after water..

 Note that China is the largest tea producing country, followed by India and Kenya, and the following are the top 10 tea producing countries in 2018, according to a report published by trendrr.
 1- China

 Production volume: more than one million tons

 

 China is the largest tea-producing country, and the country focuses on the production of high-quality green, yellow and white tea, and China allocates a lot of its land for tea cultivation, which makes it have a large surplus for export, as about 80% of the green tea exported in the world comes from China alone.

 Yunnan Province is one of the oldest tea-growing regions, and Fujian and Anhui provinces are important tea-growing regions.

 2- India

 Production volume: 900.094 thousand tons

 

 India comes in second place as the largest tea-producing country, and tea is an essential part of Indian culture, as it is called the national drink, and one of the most important areas for its cultivation is the state of Assam and Darjeeling district.

 Mass production of tea has been going on since India was under British rule, and the East India Company relied on the plantations of Assam to produce what is now known as Assam tea, a red tea.

 Much of India's tea production is consumed domestically, while a small portion is exported abroad.
 3- Kenya

 Production volume: 303.308 thousand tons

 

 Although tea is the most important cash crop for the Kenyan economy, farmers face challenges to improve production due to the lack of large plantations, lack of modern equipment and work in miserable conditions.

 Most of the tea produced in Kenya is black tea that is mostly exported with only a small portion left for local consumption.
 4- Sri Lanka

 Production volume: 295.83 thousand tons
 

 Tea is an important economic commodity in Sri Lanka and a source of income for many. More than one million people work in the tea industry, and tea revenues contributed more than 1.3 billion dollars to the country's GDP in 2013.

 Most of the tea produced in Sri Lanka is exported abroad, and there are several countries that get most of their tea exports from Sri Lanka such as Russia, UAE, Syria and Turkey.
 5-Turkey

 Production volume: 174.932 thousand tons
 

 Turkish people love tea a lot, and one study conducted about a decade ago indicated that Turkish people consume most of their tea production at about 2.5 kilograms of tea per person.
 The vast plantations of Rize are among the most important places for tea cultivation in Turkey.

 6- Indonesia

 Production volume: 157,388 thousand tons
 

 The country exports half of its tea production, and most of the country's production is concentrated on black tea, while it produces only a small percentage of green tea, and a large amount of tea is produced on the island of Java.

 7- Vietnam

 Production volume: 116.78 thousand tons

 

 The French occupation of Vietnam contributed to the strengthening of the tea industry, and Vietnam has now become one of the leading countries in the production of tea, which exports most of its production abroad and consumes only a small part of it locally. The most important places for tea cultivation are Son La and Lang Son.

 8- Japan

 Production volume: 88.9 thousand tons

 

 Tea is grown almost everywhere in Japan, Shizuoka Prefecture is the largest tea producer in Japan, producing 40% of Japan's total tea production, while Kagoshima City contributes about 30% of the total production. Most of Japan's production is consumed domestically and is not  Export only a small percentage of it.

 9- Iran

 Production volume: 83.99 thousand tons

 

 In the past, Iran did not grow tea, but it was introduced to it through neighboring countries, with China being its largest exporter.
 The credit for the cultivation of tea in Iran goes to Prince Kashif, who learned the secret of tea cultivation while working in India in secret, and applied what he learned after he returned to Iran and began producing tea since then.
 10- Argentina

 Production volume: 69.924 thousand tons

 

 Large quantities of tea are produced in Argentina in the northeastern region, and farmers rely on modern tools to help them grow and harvest the crop.

 A large amount of Argentine tea is exported abroad, which is a major source of foreign exchange for the country.
